We are welcoming Honduran criminals back into the country with open arms, and our own last colony Puerto Rico is so plagued by human rights abuses by the militants there trying to silence their free speech that even the NYT was forced to mention it. We are against their popular revolt, yet for the one in Libya. Confused? I can simplify.

What if War Toys reflected Reality?
(In July 2009 Colorado Springs Gazette published a two-part series entitled "Casualties of War". The articles focused on a single battalion based at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, who since returning from duty in Iraq had been involved in brawls, beatings, rapes, drunk driving, drug deals, domestic violence, shootings, stabbings, kidnapping and suicides. Returning soldiers were committing murder at a rate 20 times greater than other young American males. A separate investigation into the high suicide rate among veterans published in the New York Times in October 2010 revealed that three times as many California veterans and active service members were dying soon after returning home than those being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. We hear little about the personal hell soldiers live through after returning home.)
A Nation Cheers, as the US goes rogue and executes Osama Bin Laden. It was a Hit Job.
This has certainly done much to boost Obama's ratings, make us edgy with Pakistan and softened the public toward an impending action against them, renewed Islamophobia; all while dividing what is left of the Left about whether or not these actions were moral, ethical, legal or warranted.
Eichmann was eventually tried in Jerusalem for his part in the genocide of the Jewish people, why is that still not our standard?
Some are saying even discussing this question denigrates the other issues facing we Socialists... But I find it imperative to NOT give tacit approval to the flagrant flushing of the PROCESS that we once claimed made us a Nation of Laws.
I will be addressing these questions and much more tonight.

Its the First of April, and we are being played as fools. I wish it were something so blythe as a prank. The Ruling Class of this country have initiated and succeeded in Sedition against every principle we were taught our country stands for; every action is Sedition against you, me, we the People.
State by State they illegally restrict our rights and our ability to redress our complaints. They outlaw Unions, they restrict aid, threaten our very right to representation.
Nationally, the Uniparty blows smoke up our collective hineys, while continuing the process of extraction upward to move the wealth of the land into a few Oligarch's hands.
Internationally, the Military Industrial Complex continues its march toward hegemony and terror.
All the while the people continue to be distracted by shiny lies, false-flag enemies and the kabuki theater of Good Cop/Bad Cop that our two-party system has become. The Left, as well as the Right continue to believe that a D or an R is their only option, rather than trashing the corporate funded lot of them, and rallying behind a new Party, in some twisted logic of "lesser evil" that makes the Rich squeal in delight.
You fight fire with fire, and sedition with sedition. Only is it really sedition to defend ourselves and refuse to comply with those who have co-opted our government; demand freedom, health, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
We are being FORCED down this road. To live as slaves or die as free men.

THIS MEANS WAR!!!!
We've been predicting this for years. Maybe not so much as prophesy, but in direct observation of how the Class War has unfolded incrementally.
There is a full frontal attack directly against American Workers going on, finally blatant enough that even the most sheepish have become enraged as 30 states introduce legislation trying to Union Bust and redirect resources from the elderly, the students, the poor and the working class directly into the hands of Big Business.
People are hitting the streets, rising up, calling for General Strikes.... how long, I wonder before the next wave of awareness hits and our citizens realize that neither Republicans nor their Democratic counterparts truly represent us anymore?
It is time, my friends, for a Worker's Party to rise from the ashes they have made of our lives and take over.
I am now jaded enough to see the tragedies unfolding from Japan's horrific earthquake and the tsunamis yet to come as of this writing as something that the Elites will use immediately to manipulate the market and increase their Wealth even more. They undoubtedly will scream "Financial Crisis" and use it to strip us of even more rights and assets. Remember where you heard that first, and do NOT believe them! .
This is a time of hope and wonder... as I told my son last night, "Those people out there in the streets are the salvation of your future!"

Tonight, I have the rare honor of speaking to one of the premier architects of Social Reform, a humanitarian who's life work has been in helping the poor, Professor Frances Fox Piven.
Piven has been a target of demonization by right-wing mouthpiece Glenn Back of Fox News this past year, ramping the hate up to frightening levels as of late.
It is amazing that anyone can attribute the destruction of society to helping the poor, and giving voice to the ordinary citizens to better their lot. Not so amazing when viewed under the harsh realities of the Class War... the Elite Class now fears the huge underclass they have created by their extraction capitalism, and certainly wants to make an example of anyone who has spoken for People's Rights and Reformation so that we continue to be powerless.
Distinguished Professor Frances Fox Piven received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Before coming to the Graduate Center, she taught at Boston University, Columbia University, New York University Law School, the Institute of Advanced Studies in Vienna, the University of Amsterdam, and the University of Bologna. She is past Vice-President of the American Political Science Association, has served as program co-chair of the annual political science meetings, and is a past president of the Society for the Study of Social Problems. She is currently President of the American Sociological Association. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the President's Award of the American Public Health Association, and the American Sociological Association's Career Award for the Practice of Sociology, as well as their award for the Public Understanding of Sociology. Her books deal with the development of the welfare state, political movements, urban political, and electoral politics. Among them are REGULATING THE POOR (winner of the C. Wright Mills Award ub 1972, and updated in 1993); POOR PEOPLE'S MOVEMENTS (1977); THE NEW CLASS WAR (1982; UPDATED 1985); WHY AMERICANS DON'T VOTE (1988); THE MEAN SEASON (1987); LABOR PARTIES IN POSTINDUSTRIAL SOCIETIES (1992); THE BREAKING OF THE AMERICAN SOCIAL COMPACT (1997); WHY AMERICANS STILL DON'T VOTE (2000); and THE WAR AT HOME (2004); Challenging Authority: How Ordinary People Change America (2006).

This week I have the honor of interviewing Peter Kornbluh, director of the Cuba Documentation Project and the Chile Documentation Project at the National Security Archive (www.nsarchive.org), a public interest research center located at George Washington University (Washington, DC). He is co-author of The Iran-Contra Scandal: The Declassified History (New Press), author of The Pinochet File: A Declassified Dossier on Atrocity and Accountability (New Press) and co-author of a forthcoming book on the untold history of dialogue between the United States and Cuba.
This NSA was Wiki before Wiki was cool, and did it through relentless legal pressure to declassify the documents that hid in our Nation and Other's "redacted" files so that the Public would know what had been done in our names.
His most recent efforts have been pivotal in Chile addressing its human rights abuses and in the trial of Luis Posada, former CIA asset going to trial for the acts of terrorism he escaped Venezuelan prosecution for, after blowing up a Cuban Airliner.
Author of 6 books, including "Bay of Pigs Declassified: The Secret CIA Report on the Invasion of Cuba," this man is a veritable wealth of information.

Religious extremism is epidemic.
Is the anti-masturbation drive of a O'Donnell any less extreme than some of the Islamic whacks opinions about human sexuality?
Are the Muslim bombers any less brutal than the Jewish clerics calling for the eradication of all Palestinians? Are either less deadly than the American Christians who call for bombing Women's Health Clinics or for the murder of Gays?
